The meeting between FAIRE Finnish Artist Residency Network and NAARCA Network will bring together residency providers from Nordic countries, Scotland and Estonia to discuss on current issues facing the residency sector. The event will take place on Friday May 31st from 11.00-16.30 at Saari Residence in Myn\u00e4m\u00e4ki.<\/p>\n

In the meeting, we will share information about the work of NAARCA Network and the generated results. We will for example hear about the Sustainability Toolkit aimed for residences and see works of art commissioned by the network. Additionally, we are excited to hear about the new publication Residencies Reflected<\/em>. The book, edited by Irmeli Kokko is looking at artist residencies as part of a societal and ecological mindshift. Furthermore, we will hear about a new cooperation project \u2013 Nordic Baltic Residency Forum etc.<\/p>\n

The program is free of charge and includes morning coffee and lunch.<\/p>\n

Registration is open for Finnish residency providers or other organizations or professionals operating in the field of artist residencies. We are very happy to also host representatives from NAARCA, SWAN and LOORE residency networks.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The venue has a capacity for 70 participants. Registration is now open and closes by Friday 24 May<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

The work of NAARCA Network and the generated results. We will for example hear about the Sustainability Toolkit aimed for residences and see works of art commissioned by the network from artists Rikke Luther<\/strong> (Denmark) and Nikhil Vettukattil<\/strong> (Norway).<\/p>\n

NAARCA is a long-term and sustainable collaboration between Scotland and the Nordic countries focusing on the climate crisis. Central for the network is sharing knowledge, experience, and know-how and multidisciplinarity. According to NAARCA\u2019s principles social, mental, and environmental sustainability are linked and should be viewed as a whole.<\/p>\n

Besides Saari Residence, the other members of the network are Cove Park (Scotland), Artica Svalbard (Svalbard, Norway), Art Hub Copenhagen (Copenhagen, Denmark), Skaftfell Center for Visual Art (Sey\u00f0isfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, Iceland), Baltic Art Center (Visby, Sweden) and Narsaq Research Station (Greenland).<\/p>\n
