The Finnish Artists’ Studio Foundation and the HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme have mutually agreed that the coordination of the FAIRE Network will transfer from the Finnish Artists’ Studio Foundation to HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme at the beginning of 2025.
FAIRE Finnish Artist Residency Network disseminates and compiles information about the Finnish residency field and other residency opportunities for artists and communities, as well as publishes residency application announcements.
The organization coordinating FAIRE’s activities brings together and promotes the work of domestic residency operators in Finland and internationally by managing the network’s website, social media channels, and organizing meetings for network members. Additionally, the coordinating organization serves as an expert on residency matters in Finland.
HIAP will replace the Finnish Artists’ Studio Foundation in the Baltic-Nordic Residency Forum starting from January 1, 2025. However, representatives from the HIAP team will already participate in project meetings alongside the Foundation during the latter part of 2024.
The Finnish Artists’ Studio Foundation is confident that the FAIRE Network will continue to thrive under HIAP’s coordination. Both the Foundation and HIAP believe that this type of collaboration in reorganizing the field’s structures will strengthen residency activities and clarify the roles and functions of each organization within the Finnish art sector.
